Some nights I see some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen in my life. A lot of the people in the village ask me why I built my house at the top of the hill, I think that the pictures explain the reason pretty well. Some nights I will sit there and watch the entire sunset , it really is incredible. Anyways I thought I would post these two pictures that I found tucked away in my camera. Enjoy

I guess it has been quite a while since i have last posted, i tried to post something the last time i was in town but it crashed and i was really tired and didnt feel like writing everything again. Things have been going well, as you can see from some of the pictures i have been staying quite busy. I finished the deck on my house which is really nice to relax on when there is a breeze, drink coffee and read a book. It took me about two days total to build, i framed it in one day and the next day i put the boards down.
I am really a starting to get into building things out of wood, i like the challenge of using really simple tools to build.
Among other things that i have been working on is fixing the water system which is finally finished and now functioning well. We had water in village for the first time in two months last week, everyone was really happy because we all worked really hard and it paid off. We had to carry sand and rock to the top of the mountian above the village for the concrete mixture. It was hard work because we had to mix the cement right there on the jungle floor, but as you can see from the picture it worked (I hope it stays that way). The hardest part though was carrying the one hundred and ten pound sacks of cement to the top, I seriously thought it was going to kill me, it very well could have been the hardest work I have every done in my life. But oh well it is done noiw and the village has running water again.

We also have been working hard on the community center, as you see fomr the photo we finished throwing the floor. Man, that also was a heck of a lot of work, the floor took thirty sacks of cement, three hundred buckets of sand and one hundred and fifty buckets of rock. My back was sore after that day of work. When i get back we are going to start framing it, all the wood is cut and we have the materials so it shouldnt take too long to get it done. The area that you see in the picture is the only flat area in the village which is roughly the size of the foot print so we got lucky that the building is going to fit.

Lately I have been playing a lot of baseball with my village, it is a lot of fun. We play in the regional league and we are fairly competitive. The only problem is that we have no equipment when we practice we use a ball made of tape and we use our hands instead of gloves, for bats we cut down really solid trees and carve bats out of them. When we play in the real games we get to borrow equipment, so that is nice, it is the first time that i have every played baseball bare foot it is a little strange at first. Anyways we practice everyday and play in games twice on the weekends which is helping the time go by.

As you can see in the picture on the left the moon is really bright at night sometimes, it is really pretty because it reflects off the water and makes everything that much brighter.
Man i love smoked stingray!

Well i guess that is about all for this blog, things are good so i cant complain. So until next time, I hope all is well.
